Enjoy the School Lifes -- Tokimeki Memorial Only Love

I am introducing an anime series about the school lifes. It is called the "Tokimeki Memorial Only Love". It is a Japanese anime series produced by Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd., based on Konami's popular Tokimeki Memorial dating simulation series, specifically Tokimeki Memorial Online. This anime series has 25 episodes.


The anime main line story revolves around a second year high school student, Riku Aoba, who has just recently transferred to the holy cross high school, where he notices, upon joining, several unique and funny occurrences, often being the target of a series of events and races administered by the student council and its fun-seeking president.

Aoba Riku has just transferred to a new high school because of his father's job, and things aren't quite what he expected. The headmaster's secretary controls the school while espousing the virtues of academic freedom, the teachers are even stranger than normal teachers, and half the student body is walking around with animal ears on. On his very first day, Riku is unfortunate enough to find himself at the center of the student council's latest event, which has him running for his life. All this on top of the normal high school rigour of popularity contests, crushes, and homework makes it unsure whether Riku will be able to survive this new school.


Characters :
Riku Aoba (青葉陸, Aoba Riku)

An anime original character as the main protagonist of the story. A second-year student at class 2-A and Sayuri's classmate. Before transferring to Tsugumi, Riku used to live in a snowy harbour in the northeast of Hokkaido. He is often a target of a series of bizarre events and races administered by the school council. Tsukasa, Sayuri, and Mina compete for his affections.


Sayuri Amamiya (天宮小百合, Amamiya Sayuri)
One of the main heroines. A second-year student at class 2-A. Graceful and intelligent, Sayuri is an extremely popular girl at school, and is talented in academics and sports (and surprisingly video games) , often being the subject of admiration from several of the school's male students. Numerous legends have been told of the greatness of her actions in the past year. She falls deeply in love with Riku after noticing he treats her like he treats everyone and she can be her self around him, though she has been hiding her true feelings from everyone's knowledge, including Riku's.

Tsukasa Kasuga (春日つかさ, Kasuga Tsukasa)One of the main heroines. A second-year student at class 2-B, Tsukasa is a highly skilled member of the school's volleyball team. She is a believer in destiny, and falls in love with Riku almost immediately after bumping into him one day, declaring that Aoba is her boyfriend from that point on. She is also a bad cook. She successfully changes this by learning from the home economics teacher. However she skips several of the classes after wards and her cooking becomes terrible again. 

Mina Yayoi (弥生水奈, Yayoi Mina)One of the main heroines. A first-year student at class 1-C, Mina is a member of the school's swimming team. She loves dolphins and is quite shy. She appeared first in the school library, Aoba helped her reach a book about dolphins. After Aoba agrees to become her coach, she falls in love with him. She is very nervous to confess her true feelings to him. Also because of her love of the sea life she quite reluctant to prepare food from the sea.

Yūsuke Kayama (加山優介, Kayama Yūsuke)
Aoba's classmate and friend. He collects and stores data on several girls of the school on his laptop, and often has numerous legends about Sayuri to share with Riku and his friends. He appears to be the typical anime otaku. He also has a strange fascination with girls who are in sports.

Itta Suzuki (鈴木一太, Suzuki Itta)
Aoba's classmate and friend, nicknamed Icchi, often seen with Yūsuke.

There is a nice pace in this story as it shows the lives story of school. With all the interesting twists and turns occured in this series, it makes it very funny and interesting to watch. It is easy for us to watch and understand as it also has a bit of romance too.

Among all the characters, the one I like the most is Mina Yayoi. This is due to she is a very cute and shy girl. She is very shy towards her admirer. But comes to her expertise, it is swimming, she becomes a very confident person.

The opening theme of "Tokimeki Memorial Only Love" is called 'Yokan' by Yuki Makishima and there are 2 ending themes. "Kiseki no Kakera" by Yuki Makishima, Yukako Yoshikawa & Saki Fujita (eps 1-16) and "Himitsu" by Yuki Makishima, Yukako Yoshikawa & Saki Fujita (eps 17-24). Actually the theme songs are sang by the ladies who played for the voices of the 3 main heroines above.

Kaichou Wa Maid-sama! Special Episode!

Konnichiwa Minnasan! There is a Special Episode of the anime Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama has out. I have watched it this morning. It is only about 13 minutes length. The story is very interesting and hilarious and of course our Usui is still very COOL! :P Misaki is very cute! However, the San-baga or Idiot Trio do not appear in this Special episode.

Usui looks COOL in this Special and I like him when he is wearing his glasses in the end of the story. He looks gorgeous. The story is about Misaki's mother and sister are cosplayed as the Maid at home and then Hinata and Usui went to the house of Misaki for dinner, Misaki's friends, Sakura-chan and the glasses girl become the courier delivery people.

Please Marry My Daughter -- WANTED : Son-In-Law

I would like to recommend a Korean romance comedy drama here. It is the TV series in year 2008. The title is called "WANTED : Son-In-Law". This is a 20 episodes TV series. It is a comedy romance drama about potential son in-laws who come finding their way to the doorsteps of their future wives because of fate. Jo Gi Dong is a guy who causes some chaotic situations when he aims to become the son in-law of a rich man portrayed by Joo Hyun. Han Mi Soo is a rich girl who falls for Gi Dong. Kim Seung Soo (from I Am Legend) plays Mi Soo's first love in college.

Personally I was enjoying this TV series very much as I think it is very hilarious and also the lead actor Kim Ji Hoon is quite cute. He is showing his "sexy" body in some of the scenes of this series too! :P Moreover, there are many scenes are very funny, especially the lead actor and the actress are always quarreling.

How to Date An Otaku Girl?!

Konbawa Minasan! I have watched a Japanese romance comedy movie on my last weekend. The movie is named "How to Date an Otaku Girl" or "Fujoshi Kanojo". This is a Japanese light novel series in two volumes by Pentabu based on a popular blog of the same name with 11 million pageviews. A manga adaptation by Rize Shinba started serialization in 2007 and was published by Enterbrain under their B’s LOG Comics imprint. A movie adaption was 2009 published with My Geeky Girlfriend as the International English title. The story is about the misadventures of a college student, who was falling in love with a pretty girl two years his senior, while in a part-time job, only to find out his girlfriend is a hard-core yaoi fangirl, and so his torment begins.

Story       :
Hinata is a young man who has started dating Yoriko but before they can get things going she warns him that she’s a ‘fujoshi’. A fujoshi is a girl who enjoys reading mangas dealing with homo-erotic relationships between men, namely shounen-ai and yaoi. Basically she’s a very big fan of boy-love manga and butler cafes. Hinata doesn’t really understand but is quickly caught up in her world. At first he’s a little embarrassed by it all but soon begins to accept, and even embrace, Yoriko’s interests. Just as things are getting comfortable for the two lovers, Yoriko has an opportunity to move to England for her job and she’s now caught between her dreams and her new love.

The first half of the film would be in the comedy category as Hinata tries to deal with Yoriko and her strange obsessions like yaoi comics or butler cafes. There’s also plenty of scenes with Yoriko staring wide-eyed, heart fluttering, as she dreams of weird boy-love moments involving Hinata or when she dreams of Char from the Gundam series. The second half of the film is the straight up romantic part as anything involving otaku culture seems to be forgotten in exchange for the story of Yoriko deciding whether to leave her new love for her dream job.

The story is very sweet though. The lead actress is very funny in the movie and she has cosplayed too. She is also cute as she likes to dream! :P OK, let us take a peek of the scenes of the movie.
