Pretty Fashion, Pop Song & Pop Dancing -- Pretty Rhythm : Rainbow Live

Konnichiwa! Today I would like to blog about the third series of the Pretty Rhythm series animation series, which is called "Pretty Rhythm : Rainbow Live". The series revolves around a girl named Naru Ayase who becomes an idol. It starts the story anew after Dear My Future but years later. Every girl has a different element that describes their personality and fashion type.

"Pretty Rhythm : Rainbow Live" is a completed 51-episode anime series. Rainbow Live has nothing much said about the past characters. Naru Ayase is an 8th grader who can see the colors of music when she listens to it. For Naru, who is extremely good at decorating Prism Stones, becoming the owner of a shop like "Dear Crown" was her dream. One day, she finds out that the manager of a newly opened shop is recruiting middle school girls who can do Prism Show and immediately applies. Naru begins to do a Prism Show at the audition and an aura she's never experienced spreads out in front of her. At that moment, a mysterious girl named Rinne asks her if she can see the "Colors of Music".

Title         : Pretty Rhythm : Rainbow Live

Genre       : Shoujo, Comedy, Romance, Drama, Music, Fashion, Magic

Episodes  : 51 (Completed)

Story        :
The story mainly revolves around Naru Ayase (Lovely), a girl who becomes the middle-school manager of the Prism Stone Shop in Harajuku, Tokyo, Japan, Ann Fukuhara (Pop), the captain of the Prism Dance team and the sweets-loving daughter of a senbei shop owner, and Ito Suzuno (Cool), the music-enthusiast daughter of a famous guitarist who is fairly unfriendly and self-centered.
Their rivals are three girls from Edel Rose, a school branch of the Dear Crown store. These girls are Bell Renjouji (Sexy), a confident girl who has dedicated her entire life to Prism Shows, Otoha Takanashi (Feminine), a shy, fairy tale-loving girl who dedicates her life to Bell, and Wakana Morizono (Ethnic), a cat-like, fortune-telling girl who is cruel and calculating, all for the sake of not getting bored.
They all revolve around the mysterious girl Rinne (Star), who actually came from the Prism World and not a human. Rinne has lost her memories and emotions because of the black lightning that attacked her, but she is a genius of Prism Shows. In the Prism World, Rinne was a bubbly and cheerful person. After losing her emotions, Rinne rarely smiled, but she has the same emotion when she was in the shows as when she was in the Prism World. In earth, she has a bad habit to change her emotions quickly as the show is done and loves to disappear after she does shows. She also likes to interrupt prism shows which has the "Rainbow Song" she likes. Her peacock mascot fell to a different world from Rinne in the black lightning and is desperately trying to search for Rinne. Something is lingering in her past that might lead to the key of the future.
There is proof that it takes places years after Dear My Future. MARs, Prizmmy, PURETTY, and Sonata Amamiya, are seen on a rink, on a stain glass. First is MARs, PURETTY, Mia is seen doing Sparkling Future Star, MARs, Prizzmy and PURETTY doing the Grateful Symphonia, and Sonata (as a statue) doing the Aurora Rising.

There are 4 opening theme songs and 4 ending theme songs for this anime series. All the songs are sung by the characters of the series. Overall, all the female characters are pretty and adorable. The character that I like the most is the character called Rinne, followed by Naru and Otoha. Naru always says "Happy Naru", whereas Otoha always says "Fairytale!" I think both of them are really cute/kawaii!!! :)

Battles of Warships -- Arpeggio of Blue Steel

Konnichiwa minasan! O-genki desu ka? It has been a long time that I did not recommend any animation series. Thus, now it is the time for me to recommend a Japanese TV animation series which I have finished watching lately. This TV animation has definitely becomes one of my top 5 TV animation series of the year. Well, the name is called "Arpeggio of Blue Steel".

"Arpeggio of Blue Steel" is adapted from a shounen manga series with 12 episodes. It is a completed series. The story is about the sci-fi futuristic. By 2039, global warming had caused sea levels to rise and large amount of territory to be lost. As though in response, a mysterious group of warships clad in mist, “the Fleet of Mist,” appeared in every corner of the ocean, and began attacking human ships. In spite of humanity mustering all their strength, they were utterly defeated by the Mist's overwhelming force. All of humanity's trade routes were blockaded by the Fleet of Mist, their political economy was destroyed, and the human race was steadily beaten down. Seven years later, the Fleet of Mist's submarine I-401 appears before cadet Gunzo Chihaya. The humanoid life form that pilots the sub, who should be their enemy, is instead offering her services to mankind.

Title        : Arpeggio of Blue Steel

Genre      : Action, Sci-Fi

Episodes : 12 (Completed)

Story       :
Due to global warming and rising sea levels in the early 21st century, much of Earth's landmass has been lost. In 2039, fleets of powerful sentient warships , armed with advanced technology and weaponry, mysteriously appear and decimate the world's naval forces. These ships, collectively called 'The Fleet of Fog', impose a worldwide naval and aerial blockade, preventing humanity from both traveling the oceans and to other nations. During the blockade, the Fleet of Fog created Mental Models, humanoid avatars containing a ship's Union core, as a means to develop self cultivation and overcome their lack of creative thinking of tactics like humans, which at the same time made the Mental Models have their own unique personality.
In 2056, 17 years after the blockade began, Gunzō Chihaya, a former student of the Japanese National Marine Academy, is the captain of small group of privateers called the 'Blue Steel'. The Blue Steel are infamous for possessing a Fog submarine, the I-401, along with its Mental Model Iona, who defected to the human side. Due to I-401's technology and Gunzō's tactical skills, the Blue Steel have not only survived several encounters with the Fleet of Fog but managed to sink one of their most powerful warships.
Gunzō and his crew are hired by a faction of the Japanese government to deliver the prototype for a powerful weapon, a weapon that may finally allow mankind to fight back against the Fog, to the United States. The United States is the only country with the resources and capability to mass-produce the weapon system. However, the Blue Steel will face obstacles on their journey not only from the Fleet of Fog and their human allies, but from other governments and factions with their own agendas. Along the way they will also gain allies of their own from both sides, increasing their chances against seemingly overwhelming odds.

Characters :

Gunzō Chihaya
The main protagonist, Captain of the I-401 and leader of the Blue Steel Fleet.
Iona
The Mental Model (human avatar) of the submarine I-401 who left the Fog to become Gunzō's vessel of her own volition.

Sō Oribe
First Mate of I-401 who always wears a helmet supposedly due to allergies. He is Gunzō's closest friend and always know what the latter is thinking.
Kyōhei Kashihara
Weapons officer of I-401. Unlike the rest of his friends in the Blue Steel who were the top ten during their Naval Academy days, Kyōhei was in the 200th place. He also owns a huge collection of gravure idols merchandise and usually is the first to panic when the crew finds themselves in a pinch.
Iori Watanuki
Engineer of I-401.
Shizuka Hazumi
Sonar operator of I-401, she is also a capable soldier able to take down several troops with skill and strategy only. Her past is a mystery but it is known she's been to Taiwan.
A Former Fog battleship and flagship of the Second Oriental Fleet who was defeated by Iona and her crew. Gunzō and the others salvaged her Super Gravitational Cannon and installed it on I-401. Hyūga's Mental Model (human avatar) has since become the port operator for the Blue Steel. She has been obsessed with Iona since their battle and views Iona's closeness to Gunzō as a hindrance to her affections.

The Mental Model (human avatar) of the Fog heavy cruiser Takao. After Gunzō defeats her in battle, Takao falls in love with him and later joins the Blue Steel fleet. She is almost destroyed for good by Zordan's fleet but is saved in the nick of time by a surprise attack from Iona and Hyūga. However, her core is salvaged by I-402 and delivered to Yamato, who assigns her to infiltrate a human facility in a special mission with the promise of being allowed to return to Gunzō's side once it is accomplished.

Besides the characters above, there are also additional characters are available in the animation series. Personally I like the protagonist, Captain Gunzo as he is a very intelligent guy and Iona. Iona is a very adorable girl in her character. She is one of the "triplets" and she obeys her captain very much.

As the other mental model of the warships are very unique respectively. They are elegant, cute, pretty, sexy, weirdo and so on. Those mental models eventually have learnt about emotions from Iona.

Ok, let's take a peek of "Arpeggio of Blue Steel" in below.
