Triumph to the Sky – Yes, Captain

I have finished watching a Korean TV series lately. It is called “Yes, Captain”. The story centers around the people in the aviation industry. From pilot, co-pilot, steward, stewardess to the ground crew. Overall, it arounds the character growth, careers, and romances of those working at an airport. Kim Yoon Sung is the talented pilot of a passenger airline who gets saddled with a new co-pilot, Han Da Jin, in her attempts to become a pilot. The pair gets caught in a love triangle with Kang Dong Soo, who is an air traffic controller at Incheon International Airport with seven years of experience under his belt. He’s prickly and cool, but possesses a cute, playful side that sometimes crops up.

This is a 20 episodes TV series and it has shot in Sydney, Australia. The scenes involves in the places of Lunar Park, Sydney Harbour Bridge

Title                              : Yes, Captain / Take Care of Us, Captain / 부탁해요, 캡틴
Previously known as : Fly Again
Genre                           : Melodrama, Romance
Episodes                      : 20

Story :
Kim Yoon-Sung (Ji Jin-Hee) is excited that he is flying as co-pilot with a legendary Captain Han Gyu-Pil (Kim Chang-Wan). One of the passengers on the plane is Han Da-Jin's (Ku Hye-Sun) pregnant mother. She is flying to San Francisco to attend Han Da-Jin's graduation ceremony from a flight training school.

While the plane is making its way across the Pacific Ocean, the Captain leaves the cockpit to go to the restroom. Co-Pilot Kim Yoon-Sung is left alone in the cockpit. When Kim Yoon-Sung reaches for something, he accidently hits a lever. This causes the autopilot to become disengaged. Kim Yoon-Sung pulls on the yoke toward him and tries to get the airplane levelled. He manages to get the plane flying safely again.

Meanwhile, in the cabin, Da-Jin's pregnant mother asks flight attendant Choi Ji-Won (Yoo-Sun), who is working her first flight, to take her to the restroom. At this time, a star passenger calls for flight attendant Choi Ji-Won. Choi Ji-Won turns around and attends to the star passenger. Da-Jin's pregnant mother goes to the restroom alone. While Da-Jin's mother is in the restroom, the airplane suddenly rolls heavily. Da-Jin's mother bumps against the bathroom. She then collapses on the floor of the restroom. After the plane settles down, flight attendant Choi Jin-Won becomes worried about the pregnant passenger and goes to the restroom to check on her. Choi Jin-Won finds the passenger on the restroom floor. Flight attendant Choi Ji-Won helps the woman back to her seat. Choi Ji-Won covers the passenger with a blanket, but notices blood on her skirt. Choi Ji-Won tells herself that the pregnant will be fine.

A little bit later, flight attendant Choi Ji-Won goes back to the pregnant woman and this time finds her unconscious and covered with blood. Choi Ji-Won is shocked and shouts for help. Other flight attendants move the pregnant woman to a camp bed. There are no doctors on board the flight. A baby girl is born on the camp bed. Flight attendant Choi Ji-Won goes to get a pair of scissors and gives it to the head flight attendant. The chief flight attendant tells Choi Ji-Won that you did of course disinfect the scissors and proceeds to cut the umbilical cord. Choi Ji-Won is dumbfounded, because she did not disinfect the scissors. She can't say anything, but just watch. After giving birth, the passenger becomes unconscious again and the bleeding does not stop.

The Captain hears of the situation and checks to see which airport they should make an emergency landing at. The nearest airport is in Anchorage, but the weather there would make the landing risky. Captain Han Gyu-Pil tells co-pilot Yoon-Sung that should make an emergency landing at the San Francisco airport. Yoon-Sung opposes the decision and asks him what if the pregnant woman was part of your family? Captain Han Gyu-Pil replies that the pregnant woman is his wife, but the collective lives of the 300 other passengers are more important.

Han Da-Jin's mother dies. The new born baby girl is in serious condition with septicaemia. At the funeral for Da-Jin's mother, flight attendant Choi Ji-Won cries and co-pilot Yoon-Sung cries from a distance. Later that night, a drunken Yoon-Sung waits in front of Captain Han Gyu-Pil's home. Captain Han Gyu-Pil then takes a walk with him by the home's garden. Yoon-Sung tells Captain Han Gyu-Pil that he still can't understand his decision and that he does not want to fly anymore. Yoon-Sung then leaves.

The next day, Han Da-Jin asks her father Captain Han Gyu-Pil what her mother meant to him. She also tells him that her mother was also his passenger.

On the way from his wife's grave, Captain Han Gyu-Pil receives a text message from his daughter apologizing for what she said. Captain Han Gyu-Pil pulls over his car to reply back to her, but a truck then hit's Han Gyu-Pil's parked car. Captain Han Gyu-Pil dies from the collision. Now, Han Da-Jin is left alone with her sick younger baby sister. Co-pilot Yoon-Sung leaves South Korea without knowing that Captain Han Gyu-Pil died.

Seven years later, Han Da-Jin is now a pilot. She is excited to hear that she will fly with well-regarded Captain Yoon-Sung. On their first flight together, Han Da-Jin makes some mistakes. Captain Yoon-Sung believes that Han Da-Jin is incapable of becoming a competent pilot, but Han Da-Jin thinks otherwise and the story begins with the life of Da-Jin.

I like the actor Ji Jin-Hee in this drama as he plays a cold genius pilot with warm heart inside. He is a very cool guy here and looks smart with the pilot outfit. He is one of my favourite Korean actors.

I also like another actor in this drama, that he is the crew of the control tower, named, Kang Dong Soo (Lee Chun-Hee) He is very funny in the beginning but in the later episodes, after he changed his hairstyle and outfit, ho looks cool. Looks like a model instead. Haha! :P

Another little actress is also very beautiful. She stars as the little sister of Han-Da-Jin in the series. Her acting is not bad too.

OK, let us take some peeks of the scenes of “Yes, Captain!”.

Well, if you are interested to catch the triumph in the sky, you may click “Yes,Captain!” to feel the romance in the air.

Live-Action Ai Ore! Film's Trailer Streamed

Korean idols DGNA perform theme; film of Mayu Shinjo's manga to open in August

The official website for the live-action film adaptation of Mayu Shinjo's Ai Ore Love Me! (Ai o Utau yori Ore ni Oborero!) shōjo romance manga began streaming the film's 100-second trailer on Saturday. The trailer features the film's theme song "Ikenai 1-2-3" by the Korean male idol group DGNA.

DGNA member Karam stars as Akira Shiraishi, the male “princess” of an all-boys school. Actress Ito Ōno (High School Debut) plays Mizuki Sakurazaka, the female “prince” of her all-girls school and the lead guitarist in an all-girl rock band. Akira wants to join Mizuki's band Blaue Rosen when the band's lead singer moves overseas, but first he has to overcome Mizuki's suspicious misgivings.

"Ikenai 1-2-3" is DGNA's first theme song for a Japanese film, and it will go on sale this summer. The film itself will open in Japan on August 25.

Viz Media published the third volume of Ai o Utau yori Ore ni Oborero! under the title Ai Ore in North America last November. Viz also publishes the Ai-Ore! Danshikō no Hime to Joshikō no Ōji sequel (under the same Ai Ore title) and Shinjo's Sensual Phrase manga.

JManga Adds Records of the Three Kingdoms, Miku-4

Chinese Sangokushi novel & Hatsune Miku reinterpreted in manga form

JManga, a platform for reading legal manga online, revealed in its newsletter on Tuesday that it will release several volumes of manga in the coming week. These releases include the first volumes of Kenzo Kitakata and Ha Seung Nam's Records of the Three Kingdoms (Sangokushi) — available now — and Nagimiso's Miku-4 (Miku Yon) on Thursday.

Ha's manga adapts Kitakata's Japanese interpretation of the Three Kingdoms Period in Chinese history. JManga.com describes the story: "At the end of the Han Dynasty in China, the Imperial Court was collapsing to the point of no repair. With corrupt eunuchs and selfish relatives manipulating the emperor, the government was becoming obsolete and peasant uprisings breaking out all over the country.

When Zhang Jue founds the "Way of the Great Peace" order, he rallies enough followers to leads the largest revolt yet: The Yellow Turban Rebellion. This is where the curtain on history is raised. It all starts with a man named Liu Bei Xuande. When he forms a brotherhood with Guan Yu and Zhang Fe, together they take a step toward suppressing the rebellion and bringing unity back to China."

Nagimiso created Miku-4 as a web and dōjinshi spinoff of Crypton Future Media's virtual Vocaloid idol Hatsune Miku. (Crypton Future Media eventually gave its formal blessing to the manga.) The four-panel manga depicts the coming of age of Miku, a quiet, shy girl.

JManga's releases for Tuesday include the following manga:

  • Hoshi no Samidare: The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer Vol. 2
  • RECORDS OF THE THREE KINGDOMS
  • BONO BONO Vol. 2

  • JManga's releases for next Thursday will include:

  • THE GOOD WITCH OF THE WEST Vol. 2
