The Romance between the Doctor and Patient - Limited Lovers

I am sharing a Japanese shojo manga with you this time. It is a completed series with 15 chapters, I read it in the last weekend. The title of the manga is called "Limited Lovers". The story is about the romance between the doctor and the patient. The author is Keiko Yamata, first published in year 2004.

The manga follows the life of a schoolgirl called Kakinomoto Karin, who loses the use of her legs following an accident, and subsequently falls in love with her attendant doctor, Okita Teppei. Each chapter is called a 'Step'. As of chapter 13, Karin and Okita have been forced to give up on their hospital due to personal attacks by the board of a competing hospital. The manga addresses the discrimination, low quality of life and lack of independence that people with disabilities experience.

Kakinomoto Karin, the daughter of a millionaire, lost her ability to walk in an accident. During her stay at the hospital, she fell in love at first sight with the medical researcher, Okita Teppei! After she discharged from the hospital, she bought over his house and stayed together with him due to Teppei was in financial problem, but only on the condition that that Teppei was required to spend two hours with her every day. Karin, who only wanted Teppei's heart, will one day find out that not only does Teppei already have a fiancee, but he has a frightening split personality... !
On the other hand, when Karin returned to school after her discharge, she had 2 good friends named Kiki and Shouni who always stood by her side and helped her. With the supports she received, Karin managed to overcome all the setbacks.

I quite like this story as the girl Karin has a strong will power to overcome her problems even she is a handicapped. Moreover, Teppei is also a cool doctor as he tried to hide his feelings on Karin at the beginning and then only he realised that he likes her indeed.
