He is I, I am Him!!! -- Hyde, Jekyll, & I

Anyeong Haseiho! How are you lately? I apologise for not updating my blog for sometime. Anyway, today I would like to recommend a comedy romance Korean TV drama called "Hyde, Jekyll, & I". The drama is based on Lee Choong-ho's webtoon Dr. Jekyll Is Mr. Hyde. The television series starring Hyun Bin and Han Ji-Mun.

"Hyde, Jekyll, & I" is a 20 episodes series. The lead actor Hyun Bin acted as a person with multi-personality. It is a very funny character for me. The story is that the wealthy guy has a multi personality and both of them has fallen in love with the same girl.

Story        :

Gu Seo-jin is a third-generation chaebol who runs the theme park Wonder Land. He seemingly has everything — looks, brains, and fortune. He is also in line to become the next CEO of Wonder Group, the conglomerate his family owns, though his cousin Ryu Seung-yeon who oversees Wonder Hotel is his rival for the position. But Seo-jin has dissociative identity disorder. Whenever his heart rate exceeds 150, another personality emerges, and unlike Seo-jin's usual cold, cynical and ruthless self, Robin is kind, gentle and has a savior complex. This split personality began 15 years ago, and Seo-jin's doctor Kang Hee-ae believes that Robin is a manifestation of his guilt regarding a traumatic incident then. Because of this, Seo-jin avoids anything that might cause him to have a strong physical or emotional reaction which could trigger Robin's reappearance, even if that means shutting himself away from the world and eschewing any meaningful relationships.

Jang Ha-na has just returned to Korea after spending several years in the United States with Cirque du Soleil. Like her grandfather and father before her, she is set to take over as circus master of the circus show at Wonder Land, which had once been the park's primary attraction. Ha-na vows to save the failing circus and dreams of revamping it back to its former glory, but she finds herself butting heads with Seo-jin, who wants to get rid of it due to low ticket sales and high overhead costs. But with every antagonistic encounter with Ha-na, Seo-jin notes the alarming spike on his heart monitor, and the two become further embroiled with each other. After Dr. Kang tells Seo-jin she has found a cure for his condition, she gets kidnapped by a mysterious assailant who almost succeeds in killing Ha-na, the only witness. However, the traumatic experience has caused Ha-na to block out the man's face, and she goes to Dr. Kang's student, hypnotherapist Yoon Tae-joo, to help her remember. With Ha-na's life in danger, the more Robin appears and the more she falls for him, to Seo-jin's dismay.

 

Characters Description :

Personally, I think the lead actor Hyun Bin is has very good acting skill in the drama. He could play the 2 personality people totally different and just in a split second. I hope that he would win the "Best TV Actor Award" for his acting in this drama. I mean, from his acting, the audience would know that which character that he was playing. For the lead actress, she is very pretty.

 

The actor who played the villain character, Sung Joon is not bad too. He has a good body figure, tall. :P He is not bad too for the acting. Hopefully he would play in more series soon.

When I was watching this drama, it made me laugh and cried too. Some of the scenes are very touching and some of the scenes are very romantic. I am very recommend to all to watch this TV drama.

My Favourite Top 3 of the K-TV Series for Year 2014!!!

Anyeong haseiho! I have been posted for my favourite top 3 for the manga and anime series of year 2014 in the previous posts. Now it is the time for me to reveal my top 3 of the Korean TV series of Year 2014 to you all now!!! Hehe!!! :P

 

Well all my top 3 K-TV series are in different genres but there is one similarity, which is romance!!! :P My top 3 series include, action, fantasy, comedy!!! Can you guess my choice?! OK, let's us roll the drum now......................

 

No. 3 : 3 DAYS

 

 

This series is an action and a bit romance. The story is about the President of South Korea goes on holiday at a private villa. In the middle of the night, three gunshots are fired, and the president goes missing. His bodyguards, led by elite agent Han Tae-kyung, have three days to find the president and escort him safely back to the Blue House. The actors are Park Yoo-Chun and Son Hyun-joo.

 

The reason I selected it as my no. 3 is due to the story and it is an exciting series that makes me wanted to know the ending to know the whole story behind the missing of the President. Thus, mysteries had attracted me!!! :)

No. 2 DOCTOR STRANGER

 

 

No doubt, it is a TV series about medical from the title. The lead actor is one of my favourite actors, Lee Jong-suk. I think this is his first TV series that he did not act as a student, as an adult, a genius doctor.

 

I like the story of "Doctor Stranger" as it is about the vengeance, romance and a bit of politics. But there is another reason is that this series was shot in the Hungary, a beautiful country too. Moreover, I think Lee Jong-suk is very cool in this drama and his acting is good. Thus, I top it no.2 for my choice.

Now, it is the time to announce my most favourite K-TV series of Year 2014! Can you guess which series is it?! Let me give you some hints, this series is a BIG HIT in the Asia! Both the lead actor and actress of the series are the idols of many people, especially the actor. Some of the people like to imitate them too!!! Heheh! Can you guess it now?!

"My Love from the Star"!

 

 

NO. 1 MY LOVE FROM THE STAR

 

 

Yes, "My Love from the Star" is my most favourite TV series of the year and I guess it is for many people too. No doubt, it has become a BIG HIT in the Asia, especially China, and many people are talking about Do-Min-Jun-shi and Cheon Song-yi!!! Haha!!!

 

The reason I have chosen "My Love from the Star" is due to its story is interesting. Moreover, it is about the romance of an E.T. with a celebrity. This movie has also many romantic scenes which attracts me very much. The songs of the series are also very melodious, eg. My Destiny, Hello/Goodbye.

 

The other reason I like this series is that both the lead actor and actress are cute and pretty respectively. This couple makes a lot of fun scenes in the series and all the fans including me were wondering how was the ending would be. Thus, the story of such series kept me want to watch it and no doubt it is my top 1 of the year 2014!!! Haha! :D

To Report the Truth -- Pinocchio

Anyeong Haseiho! Today I would like to recommend a K-TV drama which I finished watching about 2 months ago. This series has my favourite actor, Lee Jong-suk.  :)  Well, the title of the drama is called "Pinocchio".

 

This is a 20-episode tv drama and is about the life of the reporters. The lead actor is Lee Jong-suk and the actress is Park Shin-hye. The crews behind the scenes are the ones same as the tv drama "I Can Hear Your Voice".

Story        :

In the year 2000, Ki Ha-myung is leading a happy life with his parents and older brother Jae-myung, until his father Ki Ho-sang, the captain of the firefighting squad, dies in a factory explosion during a rescue attempt along with several of his men. When Ho-sang's body is initially missing, the media sensationalizes the case by scapegoating him. In a battle for ratings, cold and calculating MSC reporter Song Cha-ok alleges that Ho-sang survived the blast, and is currently in hiding because he was responsible for the deaths of his men. This causes the Ki family to become outcasts in their neighborhood and objects of national scorn. Ha-myung's mother attempts to kill herself and her younger son by jumping off a cliff, and Jae-myung blames their deaths on the media, particularly Cha-ok.
But Ha-myung is alive, having been rescued from the water by Choi Gong-pil, a kind elderly man who lives on Hyangri Island. Gong-pil, who may either have Alzheimer's disease or trauma-induced memory loss, believes that Ha-myung is his older son Choi Dal-po, a simpleton who had died thirty years ago. Ha-myung, who has no one else in the world, embraces the deception and treats Gong-pil as his father. Gong-pil officially adopts Ha-myung, now named Dal-po, and places him in the family register as his eldest son. So five months later, when Gong-pil's younger son Choi Dal-pyung moves to the island with his daughter Choi In-ha, they are flabbergasted to be told by Gong-pil to address a mere boy as their "older brother" and "uncle," respectively. In-ha has "Pinocchio syndrome," which causes her to hiccup whenever she tells a lie. She idolizes her mother, and hates living on the island after her parents' divorce. The fledgling friendship between Dal-po and In-ha is dashed, however, when he learns that In-ha's mother is none other than Song Cha-ok.
Five years later, In-ha and Dal-po are high school seniors and classmates at their small-town high school in 2005. Dal-po, who is actually a genius, pretends to be dumb (like the real Dal-po) and gets all zeroes in his test scores. With his last-place class standing and scruffy, country bumpkin hair, Dal-po is friendless at school while In-ha is the most popular girl. Dal-po secretly likes In-ha, and he is forced to join a televised quiz show at first to prevent Ahn Chan Soo who has a crush on In Ha from confessing to her on national TV, then later to protect her from losing a bet. At the TV studio, he runs into the show producer Hwang Gyo-dong, who had been a YGN reporter and one of Cha-ok's rivals, but changed careers after what happened to the Ki family. After seeing Dal-po on TV, and despite knowing that her Pinocchio syndrome limits her career choices, In-ha decides to become a journalist.
In 2013, the Choi family has moved back to the city. While In-ha has spent the last three years after college studying to become a reporter after failing her job interviews 35 times, Dal-po works as a taxi driver. Cha-ok, who hasn't seen her daughter in a decade and is now MSC's nightly news anchor and section chief, fails In-ha at her final interview, saying a reporter with Pinocchio syndrome would be useless. Seeing how hurt In-ha is at her mother's rejection, Dal-po becomes determined to help her achieve her dream so he announces that he wants to become a reporter as well. A month later, In-ha and Dal-po apply at YGN's "blind" audition for broadcast news reporters, but only Dal-po gets hired. When confronted by Gyo-dong, now-chief of YGN's news desk, Dal-po confesses his real identity as well as his real motive for taking the job: he wants to find his older brother Jae-myung and clear their father's name. But what he doesn't know is that Jae-myung has taken revenge on the factory workers who lied about their father by killing two of them and framing the third one. Meanwhile, with MSC's credibility rating at an all-time low, Cha-ok hires In-ha, using her Pinocchio syndrome in a publicity stunt. Thus, Dal-po and In-ha become rookies at rival networks, and among their colleagues are Seo Beom-jo, who comes from a rich, sheltered chaebol background and has a connection to In-ha via a wrong cellphone number, and Yoon Yoo-rae, once an idol sasaeng fan who now uses those obsessive and determined traits in her new job.

I like the actor Lee Jong-suk very much as he acts very well in this drama and he even won an award in the SBS Award Show. This is my personal comment, I do not quite like the lead actress although she is the favourite of many people. Well, everyone has different taste! :P Haha!

 

From this drama, it inspires me that sometimes the news could not be trusted as it had been twisted. For me, I think the reporter should report the truth instead of to report the wrong information or to twist the real incident. Do you agree? Well, I think all the reporters of the worldwide must have done their duty well, that is to report the truth!

There are many romantic scenes in the drama which I like very much. Eg. hug from behind, kiss scenes and of course it has the happy ending! Yeh! :D I like the actress that acts as the newbie reporter, Lee Yoo-bi as Yoon Yoo Rae. She is very cute in the drama. She also has won the award for "New Star".

Indecent Proposal -- Temptation

Hello there! I would like to recommend another K-TV drama series which I have been finished watching. The story of this series is a bit different from the normal K-TV series. The story is about a rich femme fatale is willing to bail out a married man mired in a huge debt, but at a very high cost – one that could ruin his life and his marriage.

 

Well, if you are a fan of the K-TV series, you might know which drama I am referring too! :) The result would be reveal now, it is the "Temptation". Starring Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Ji Woo, this drama marks their first drama together since the classic hit 'Stairway to Heaven' .

Cha Seok-hoon is a naïve man who grew up a rural village in Gangwon Province. His intellect gets him into the country's top university despite his family's economic plight, and he takes on all sorts of part-time jobs, from quick services to construction work, in order to earn his tuition.

He then meets Na Hong-joo, a girl also from a poor family. Hong-joo is resigned to a miserable existence, until Seok-hoon brings happiness and hope into her life. They get married, and Hong-joo is a calm and understanding wife, always the first to sacrifice and make concessions. However, Seok-hoon finds himself plunged into massive debt due to a failed business venture with another partner.

Yoo Se-young is a hotel heiress, trained to take over her father's company from a young age. Called a "woman of iron," she is a workaholic and a headstrong leader, and has no interest in love or marriage. One of her family friends is rich playboy Kang Min-woo, who unsuccessfully tried to seduce her in the past. Min-woo has everything he could ever want, and approaches life with the philosophy that you should have a hundred different faces for a hundred different women. He got married only because it was a requirement for his inheritance.

While on a business trip to Hong Kong, Se-young meets Seok-hoon and Hong-joo, and for her amusement, she makes them a dangerous offer to test their marriage: In exchange for paying off Seok-hoon's debts so that he could avoid going to jail, she asks for four days with him.

Seok-hoon makes a crucial choice and takes the deal. But his strange relationship with Se-young soon jeopardizes his marriage. Upon their return to Korea, Seok-hoon and Hong-joo's marriage is unable to survive this crisis of trust, and they eventually divorce. Meanwhile, Se-young finds herself genuinely falling for Seok-hoon.

In "Temptation", I am feeling pity for both the characters Yoo Se Young and Na Hong Joo. Firstly, Hong Joo did not trust her husband, Suk Hoon, and has broke her own marriage. Then she wanted to revenge and married to the man that she did not love, but with the power. Again she ruined her second marriage. I think all the marriages that ruined were due to her ownself and could not be blamed to others. The reason was she did not trust her husbands. Personally, I am quite hate this character while watching the series.

 

 

The other character is Se Young. Gosh, she is a very smart business woman in her life and many ladies might jealous of her. But this lady has sacrificed her life on her career and did not have romance life until she met Suk Hoon. Again, she was so unfortunate and had cancer and could not be staying long with her love one. For me, money could buy anything but health!

 

 

Personally I like to see Se Young and Suk Hoon as I think they were a perfect match! :P This drama was decent and quite normal, of course the reason i was watching it was because of the main two leads Yoo Se-Young and Cha Seok-Hoon and the plot life was somewhat unique. Anyway i am quite satisfied for this drama, it made me happy and at peace, it was worth my time. The main leads performed their best and they looked compatible with each other.

 

OK, let's take a peek of "Temptation" below:-

 

 

FYI, this drama also has shot a few scenes in the Hong Kong. The scenes actually could be seen from the first few episodes. Thus, it could be said that the story is from Hong Kong onwards! :P

 

Well, I hope you would enjoy the "Temptation" after my recommendation. Make sure you would not get into the indecent proposal in your life! Haha!
