New Star of the Future -- Pretty Rhythm : Dear My Future

Konnichiwa Minasan! I would like to recommend the part 2 of the Japanese anime series from my previous post. The name is called "Pretty Rhythm : Dear My Future". It is a completed anime series with 51 episodes. The story is about 3 years after the prism stars MARS!!!

Title         Pretty Rhythm : Dear My Future

Genre      : Dancing, Romance, Shoujo, Fashion, Comedy

Episodes : 51

Status      : Completed

Story :

Pretty Rhythm Dear My Future takes place three years after the end of Aurora Dream, and now revolves around new Prism Star unit Prizmmy☆, consisting of Mia Ageha, Reina Miyama, Karin Shijimi, and Ayami Ooruri, and their rivals PURETTY, a unit from Korea that consists of Hye In, Chae Kyoung, So Min, Shi Yoon, and Jae Eun. The anime focuses on the girls becoming proper Prism Show units, and also on them collecting the various pieces of the Symphonia of Awakening dress. However, MARs still deals with many problems in their personal lives, and as such, the show also focuses on them for a large portion of the show.

Characters Description :

Mia Ageha (上葉 みあ)
This perky and lively 14 year old girl is the new main character of Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future. Having her eyes set on Aira and beating her, she tries her best and never gives up to reach her goal by first getting into "Pretty Top". She calls Penguin Sensei, Pen-Chan Sensei and Yunsu, Rival Boy. Her attitude toward her dreams impresses the people around her. She is shown to have a somewhat talent for the Prism Show like Aira. Her will is "Ki・Do・Ai・Raku!" (Motivation, Courage, Love and Luck). Her catchphrase is "Mia is number one!". She has long, wavy purple hair with a bow on the side of her hair. Mia aims to be the top in everything she tries to do and will go to many lengths to do it. She has feelings for Prism Ace (also, she is the only one who doesn't know Prism Ace is Takigawa Jun).

Reina Miyama (深山 れいな)
A very sensible 14 year old girl, Reina often has to stop Mia from charging straight ahead. However, she is also very sensitive. Reina has wavy light brown hair, always in twin tails. She has the strongest singing skills in Prizmmy☆. Reina has feelings for Itsuki Harune, Aira's younger brother.

Karin Shijimi (志々美 かりん)
A 13 year old girl with a candid personality, Karin makes everyone around her cheer up. Karin has short brown hair, which is always in a side tail. She causes a lot of trouble for others, but she is thoughtful. She holds the skill for wonderful dance. She loves to move her body. Karin has eight younger brothers. Her catchphrase is "Galactical!".

Ayami Ōruri (大瑠璃 あやみ)
The youngest member of Prizmmy☆, Ayami is a kind, quiet and shy 12 year old girl. However, when push comes to shove, she can be quite courageous. Just like Aira, she has an affinity for fashion. Ayami has a habit of writing notes in her notepad. She has long, straight blue hair, which she wears it in a high ponytail. Her catchphrase is "Memo Memo desu!". Ayami also likes cats.

TOP - Mia & Reina
BOTTOM - Karin & Ayami

Hye In (ヘイン)
Hye In is a 15 year old girl who is doing a Prism study abroad program in Japan at "Pretty Top", and comes from Korea. She has a lively personality, but works very hard and seriously at whatever she does. She's childhood friends with Mia. Hye In also becomes interested Symphonia Series and is willing to help Yunsu with his dream by sponsoring for him. Hye In has a weird hobby that she really likes, which is practising and increasing her stamina, like running 30 laps, doing 200 push-ups, doing beach flag, etc. She won MVP and the Symphonia Dress at the Symphonia Summer Festival, despite not winning the festival itself.

So Min (ソミン)
So Min is 14 year old and seems like a very kind and gentle person, but in fact, she cannot forgive things that are wrong and will never let anything she thinks is right get messed up. She is a study-abroad student from Korea who has a good head on her shoulders. So Min won lots of trophies, seen in Episode 8. She doesn't have a counterpart in Prizmmy☆, but holds a good friendly rivalry with Mia. As a child, So Min love the sea but after drifting too far into the ocean, she became scared of it. With Yunsu's advice, she overcame this fear and continued her Prism Act at the "Pretty Top" Water Festival. So Min has feelings for Yunsu. In a few episodes, So Min is seen crying tears if joy, like in episode 12, where they debuted as Puretty.

Shi Yoon (シウン)
A very spaced-out and slow-tempo 16 year old girl, Shi Yoon is one of the girls who came abroad from Korea to study the art of Prism Shows at the "Pretty Top" agency in the anime, Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future. She is the all-noticing, thoughtful big sister role of her team. Usually, she is very kind and docile, but she is actually extremely scary when angered. Her best friend in Prizmmy☆ is Karin. She would say "Yeah!!" a few times, like when she first met Karin.

Chae Kyung (チェギョン)
Chae Kyung is a study-abroad 16 year old student from Korea that has come to Japan and "Pretty Top" to learn the art of Prism Shows in the anime, Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future. Chae Kyung is a refreshing girl who comes from a house with lots of money. She's good at finding diamonds in the rough, but has a problem with thinking she can solve everything with money. She's the kind of girl who thinks she's a celebrity, and pushes her way through. Her catchphrase is "Celebrity!". Her best friend in Prizmmy☆ is Ayami. Most of Puretty's expenses are paid by her and her family. She is Yunsu's little sister. Her mother was a genius actress and wanted to make her proud in being one (she was jealous that her brother impressed her with his designer drawings). However after winning the film audition and having to choose between being an actress and Prism Star, Chae Kyung realized that being a Prism Star makes her really happy and gain caring friends.

Jae Eun (ジェウン)
The youngest girl in the study abroad team, Jae Eun is one of the girls who came abroad from Korea to study the art of Prism Shows at the "Pretty Top" agency in the anime, Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future. Jae Eun is a natural airhead and is more than a bit clumsy. A sweet and honest 13 year old girl. She falls in love easily with boys that she thinks is really handsome or has a "Paku-Paku" atmosphere like, Itsuki in Episode 5, an unknown boy in Episode 5, Shō in Episode 20 and Chef Shiotani in Episode 33. She has a habit of saying "Paku-Paku".
PURETTY

Yong Hwa (ヨンファ)
Yong Hwa is a famous Prism Star Idol that works for the same office as Puretty. He is very popular as a large crowd of women appear whenever his name is said. Yong Hwa first appeared in Episode 22. He is also Chae Kyung's and Yunsu's childhood friend. Yong Hwa can tell what someone loves the most or their object of affection (he calls it Heart Shuffle). It is shown that he knows Reina's crush as he is always teasing her about her feelings for Itsuki, thinking that Reina is very cute.

Itsuki Harune (春音 いつき)
Itsuki is Aira's 14 year old little brother who usually teases her and the object of Reina's affection. He is younger but looks more mature and not clumsy like his older sister Aira. Itsuki helped her keep the secret about being in the Prism Shows from her dad together with his two younger twin sisters. It looks like he has an interest in doing the family business. Itsuki is studying to be a sports doctor at a young age. Mia pointed out he has no excitement and got him involve with a Prism Surprise Show. Itsuki is actually interested in Prism Shows, despite not watching many of them. He made his Prism Show debut in Episode 15. Itsuki seems to be interested in Reina.

Yunsu (ユンス)
Yunsu is the owner of "Dear Crown", a fashion and Prism Stone store right next to Shō's in Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future. He is not liked at all by Shō, not because he is his rival in business, but because he is his rival in love. Yunsu has great respect for Aira and considers her as his muse or goddess, even presenting her a goddess crown and kissing her on the hand, to which Aira blushes, while Shō retaliates angrily. The clothes he designs are different from Shō's, according to Aira, because they're not cute but sexy and chique. His sister is Chae Kyung and he receives affections from So Min.

Michelle (ミシル)
Michelle is the dance instructor of Puretty and president of "Dear Princess".

In this Part 2 series, there are many characters have appeared, whereas the old characters like the MARS or the Callings appeared very few scenes. However, in the part 2 series, I think it involves more songs and beauty fashions. There is also a dancing of Korean style for the PURETTY group.

The character I like in this anime series is Reina as I think she is sweet and also her costume is cool for me. There are 8 theme songs in this series as 4 for opening and 4 for closing theme. I prefer the closing theme song  "Dear My Future ~Mirai no Jibun~".

Anyway, let's take a sneak peek of "Pretty Rhythm : Dear My Future" in below :-

Shoujo Animation TV Series

Konnichiwa! Hi there! It's been a long long time that I did not blog about any anime or manga series. Today, I would like to recommend 2 shoujo anime series which I found them interesting and lovely. They could be my favourite anime series of Yr. 2013. No doubt, both of these anime series are adapted from the shoujo manga series respectively.

My first recommendation anime series is "My Little Monster" aka "Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun". The story focuses on the relationship between Shizuku Mizutani, who has absolutely no interests except in studying and her plans for the future, and a boy named Haru Yoshida, who sits next to Shizuku in class but rarely attends school. After Shizuku is tasked with delivering class printouts to Haru's home, she meets Haru, who immediately greets her as a friend, starting their new relationship. Then the life of Shizuku started to change as the boy, Haru has confessed to her.

"My Little Monster" is a romance comedy anime series with 12 episodes + 1 OVA.

Well, if you are interested to catch "My Little Monster", you may click as below.

"Hyouka" is my next recommendation. It is a mystery romance series. The story about school life and consists of 22 episodes + 1 special episode.

36811l
The story is about Hōtarō Oreki is a high school boy, who always acts very passively with his life. One day, he enters the "Koten Bu (Classic Literature Club; Classics Club for short)" at the request by his elder sister, Tomoe Oreki.
There he meets Eru Chitanda, with his friends Satoshi Fukube and Mayaka Ibara joining also. Eru is a calm and beautiful girl but she turns into an embodiment of curiosity once she says, "I can't stop thinking about it(Watashi, Kininarimasu)". Satoshi is Hōtarō's smiling friend with fantastic memory, who never attempts to make any conclusions. Mayaka is a short girl and childhood friend of Hōtarō, strict on everyone, even herself.

They begin to investigate a case that occurred 45 years ago. Hints of the mystery are buried in an old collection of works of the former members of Classics Club. The collection is titled "Hyouka".

Should you want to catch this interesting anime series, please click "Hyouka" to enter their world!

The Hearts for Fashion – Carnation

Konnichiwa minasan! It has been a long time that I did not blog about the Japanese drama series. Well, there is a Japanese drama series that I would like to recommend to you all which I am watching it on the Astro Quan Jia HD Channel (channel 3O8) currently. The title is called “Carnation”. It is a true story of a Japanese fashion designer.

The story is based on the life of fashion designer Koshino Ayako, who passed away in 2006 at the age of 92. Although she was a successful designer in Japan, she also single-handedly raised three daughters who followed in her footsteps to become internationally known designers, named Hiroko, Junko, and Michiko.

Title         : Carnation
Genre       : Historical, Family, Drama
Episodes  : 151
Air Time   : 8:00pm – 8:30pm Every Monday – Friday @ Astro Quan Jia HD Channel
                    (channel 308)

Story        :

The story begins in 1924 when Itoko Ohara is a rambunctious and free-spirited 11-year-old girl. The eldest daughter of Zensaku, who runs a small kimono fabric shop, and Chiyo, who left her rich family to elope with Zensaku, Itoko loves the Danjiri Matsuri, but is upset that girls are not allowed to participate. She finds a substitute in dressmaking after she sees Western dresses for the first time when visiting her grandparents in Kobe. After proceeding to girl's middle school, she gets her first glimpse of a sewing machine and becomes obsessed with working that device. Pressing her stern and obstinate father, who objects to Western clothing, she finally convinces him to let her leave school to pursue her dream. But she has to overcome many hurdles along the way, which she does through her persistence, creativity, and indefatigable nature. She first works at a shop that makes a form of men's underwear, but gets fired when times get hard. She finally convinces a sewing machine saleswoman to teach her Western dressmaking, and succeeds in designing and creating the uniforms of a Shinsaibashi department store, but Zensaku still makes her work at a series of establishments after he complains of her lack of business acumen. At first a tailor shop and then a fabric store, Itoko greatly increases business through hard work and innovation. Convinced that his daughter has grown and that kimono fabric is a dying business, Zensaku retires and hands the business over to Itoko, who finally opens her own Western dressmaking shop in 1934.

Masaru Kawamoto, who was Itoko's co-worker at the tailors, proposes marriage and enters the Ohara family as a mukoyōshi. The two have three daughters while running a successful business making Western-style clothes for men and women. But their world is profoundly changed by Japan's pursuit of war. Their neighbors Taizō Yasuoka and his younger brother Kansuke are both drafted and die in battle. Zensaku is badly burned in a fire at home and eventually dies. Itoko's former schoolmate Natsu, who ran a high-class ryōtei, has to sell it when business goes bad and then flees town to escape her debtors. Even Masaru is drafted and sadly dies of an illness at the front shortly before the war ends.

After the war, Itoko is able to rebound rather quickly and assists others in recovering as well. She helps Yaeko, Taizō's widow, resume her hair permanent business, and when she discovers that Natsu had become a prostitute for American servicemen, she convinces Tamae, Taizō's mother, to save Natsu by hiring her. Itoko joins the local fabric guild and meets a young tailor from Nagasaki named Ryūichi Suo. Through various circumstances, the two come to work together and fall in love—even though Suo has a wife and children. Resolving to solve the situation, Itoko supports Suo in opening his own shop and never sees him again.

As time passes, Itoko's three daughters begin to decide on their careers. Yūko, the eldest, initially wants to go to an art college, but when Itoko challenges her on whether she really wants to be an artist, she decides to attend a fashion design school in Tokyo instead. Naoko, who always seems to be fighting with Yūko, decides to go to the same school, much to Yūko's consternation—and then becomes the first to be successful by winning a major award. Yūko returns to Kishiwada after graduating to help her mother, but Naoko stays in Tokyo to open her own boutique. When it begins to flounder due to Naoko's abrasive personality, the gentler Yūko travels to Tokyo, despite being married and with a daughter, to help out. Meanwhile Satoko, the youngest, who seems furthest removed from the clothing world, gives up a promising tennis career to learn dressmaking under her mother. Itoko, however, starts to feel her age as fashions change from Dior to Louis Vitton to miniskirts, and contemplates handing over the business to Yūko. But Kishiwada is too small for Yūko, who starts her own boutique in Shinsaibashi. Even Satoko, whom Itoko thinks of giving the shop to next, decides to go to London to try her design skills.

The years pass and Itoko's daughters are solid successes in the fashion world. Yūko's daughter Rika, however, had become a rebellious youth who flees her mother to stay with Itoko. Through her grandmother's love, she finally finds herself and eventually begins working for her mother. Itoko helps others as well. Succumbing to the pleas of a son of an old friend, she designs some clothing for the elderly, and is such a success she starts her own brand of clothing that makes her even more famous. Doing a fashion show at a hospital, she runs into Natsu for the first time in decades, and even meets the daughter of Suo. Working everyday into her nineties, and even renovating her home, she collapses in March 2006 and dies in the hospital at the age of 92. The many she helped gather at her home and watch the Danjiri Festival from the window—while Yōko tells her sisters that a TV network wants to do an asadora of their mother's life.

Cast :
Ono's character in the drama, modeled after Koshino, is named Ohara Itoko. She  plays the character from her teenage years to her fifties. The story is set in the Kansai region, but Ono did not have problem with the dialect since she is originally from Nara.

Well, let us take some peek of the drama series “Carnation” at below.

The “Carnation” is also has won few awards in the 72nd Television Drama Academy Awards in Japan. The awards are listed as below :-

Frankly speaking, my mother and I are enjoying watching “Carnation” every night. The reasons are the story is interesting and I also like the character of the lead actress “Itoko”. She is the person that did not give up easily and always tries to overcome her troubles to pursue her goals and finally she became a popular fashion designer. I think it is a positive attitude for us to learn from her. :P
